Training Concept
Welcome! TalentsBridge supports young Namibians in training for skilled professions in industrial electrical engineering, wholesale and retail, as well as the hospitality sector.
What is vocational training?
Vocational training is a clearly structured pathway that allows you to work hands-on while learning in a systematic way. You spend time in well-equipped training environments such as workshops, kitchens, training rooms, or practice retail spaces, while also taking part in subject-specific classroom instruction. Both elements belong together and are planned so that theory and practice complement each other.
What exactly happens?
- Practical training: You learn through real tasks — operating machines, handling customer situations, or carrying out production steps. Step by step, you take on more responsibility.
- Specialist instruction: Alongside the practical training, you receive targeted lessons that explain why things are done in a certain way, including technology, safety, product knowledge, hygiene, and legal basics.
- Guidance and feedback: Experienced trainers show you how things are done and support your learning progress. Regular feedback helps you improve continuously
- Documentation: Your progress is recorded in logbooks and training records so that, in the end, you can clearly demonstrate what you have learned.
Why this works so well
- You learn in a highly practical way — what you learn can be applied immediately, which helps you understand it more deeply.
- Vocational training prepares you directly for employment: many graduates find work quickly because of their practical experience.
Who is vocational training suitable for?
It is ideal for anyone who enjoys practical work, wants to take on responsibility, and is looking for a clear career path with a direct connection to the world of work.

Structure and course of the training programme
Phase 1 – Preparation and language acquisition
Introduction, German language support, basic knowledge, and administrative preparation. The goal is for all participants to be linguistically and organisationally ready to begin.
Phase 2 – Training at the training centre
Practical training takes place mainly at the training centre, including workshops, a training kitchen, and a practice retail space. At the same time, participants attend subject-related theoretical classes. This phase systematically builds the foundations and the professional profile.
Phase 3 – Practical placements in partner companies
The training remains centred at the training centre, while apprentices also complete supervised practical placements in Namibian partner companies. These placements allow them to apply the skills acquired at the centre under real working conditions.
Phase 4 – Exam preparation and completion
This phase includes intensive exam preparation, additional modules where necessary, and the final IHK examination in Germany. After successfully passing the exam, participants receive their qualification and certificate.
Total duration
The total duration of the training programme is 30 months.
Learning Concept
Training centre
Theoretical instruction, inter-company practical modules, language support, employability training, and exam preparation. The centre provides trainers, workshops and practice rooms, as well as structured learning plans.
Namibian partner companies
German partners / educational providers
Exam preparation, onboarding for examination formats, and implementation of the final IHK examination; where appropriate, specialist modules or internships in Germany to prepare for the final examination.
In brief
The concept combines intensive, guided practical training at the training centre with targeted real-world placements in companies and a final formally recognised examination phase in Germany. In this way, participants develop professional competence, career readiness, and a direct pathway into the labour market.
